Elissa and Jeff’s engagement session was the perfect mix of fun and real life.
We kicked things off at Generations AdventurePlex for some arcade energy, then switched gears and finished the session at their gym with photos that felt personal to who they are together.
Arcade sessions are always a win if you want engagement photos that feel playful and unposed.
There’s built-in movement and interaction, which means you’re laughing, reacting, and actually doing something together instead of standing around trying to “look natural.” The lights, the colors, and the whole vibe at Generations made for such a fun first half of the session.
After the arcade, we headed to their gym for the second half, and honestly, it was such a cool way to make the session feel uniquely theirs.
If working out is part of your routine together, it makes total sense to include it. The gym gave us a clean, modern setting and a completely different look from the arcade, while still keeping the session authentic.
We captured them lifting, moving, and interacting in a way that felt natural, not like a staged “fitness ad.”
This is exactly why we love sessions built around activities.
You get photos that feel like your real relationship. You’re not pretending to be anyone else. It’s your favorite places, your routines, your energy. And the variety is built in, fun arcade candids followed by a totally different, personal vibe at the gym.
1) Plan two outfits.
Something fun and “going out” for the arcade, and workout gear for the gym.
2) Keep the gym portion simple.
A few key areas and a few natural movements go a long way without turning it into a full training session.
3) Focus on interaction.
Laugh, hype each other up, stay close. The best photos come from real moments, not perfect reps.
If you want engagement photos that feel fun, personal, and a little different, build the session around what you actually love doing together.
Arcades, gyms, coffee shops, bookstores, bars, whatever fits your story. We’ll help you plan the flow and capture it in a way that feels natural from start to finish.
