When your wedding venue is a library, your florals are made of book pages, and your dog Poppy steals the show yeah, that’s a day worth writing about.
Brooke and Devon crafted a celebration that was personal, meaningful, and joyfully them. From inside jokes with lifelong friends to romantic moments tucked between the bookshelves, their wedding was one for the storybooks literally.
The moment Brooke and Devon walked into the St. Joseph County Public Library, they knew it was the one. As a self-declared book lover, Brooke’s heart was already sold and the modern indoor-outdoor space gave them exactly what they were looking for: a venue that could feel both cozy and elevated.
What we loved most? Their ceremony took place surrounded by shelves of stories, but theirs was the one everyone came to witness.
The day started with laughs and memories. Brooke’s bridal squad had enough childhood stories, horse tales, and veterinary adventures to keep everyone in stitches from hair and makeup all the way through the final touches.
Their first look? Absolutely perfect. A quiet, grounding moment before the whirlwind, where we could feel just how much these two mean to each other.
Every wedding has a star and this one had four paws and a golden coat.
Poppy, the couple’s beloved golden retriever, had a front-row seat to her humans saying “I do.” She walked down the aisle, greeted guests, and gave the entire day the ultimate stamp of joy and tail wags.
If you’re considering having your dog in your wedding—this is your sign to do it.
After a short-and-sweet ceremony (Brooke’s only request was to keep the spotlight moments minimal), guests were welcomed into a reception that was anything but ordinary.
Centerpieces? Made from real books.
Flowers? DIY-ed with love by the bride herself.
Favors? Custom bookmarks, of course.
Speeches? Personal and hilarious.
And yes, there was a table photo dash—because who doesn’t want an excuse to run around and hug everyone you love?
Throughout the day, it was clear Brooke and Devon built this wedding around what matters most: people, memories, meaning. Whether it was their combined family portraits, the shared laughter during dinner, or sneaking off for a quiet breath between moments, these two knew exactly how to stay grounded in what this day was really all about.
