Sage and Keegan wanted a wedding that felt like them. Not “cookie cutter wedding day #4,000.” More like dark romantic vibes, meaningful traditions, and a whole lot of laughter with their favorite people.
And once you put that kind of energy inside a venue like St. Cecilia Music Center, it hits different.
This place is a performance hall, so the architecture already feels dramatic in the best way. Tall details, rich spaces, and rooms that feel like they were designed for moments that deserve to be remembered.
Getting Ready At The Venue
One of the coolest parts of their day is that they were able to stay on-site and use the building itself as the backdrop.
Sage’s crew was basically powered by Dungeons and Dragons conversations, and Keegan’s side had the video game talk covered. Helldivers, DOTA, Terraria, the whole lineup.
It was the perfect “we’re hyped but chill” energy leading into the rest of the day.
Also, we made sure to capture Sage’s grandmother’s necklace, because those kinds of details carry a lot more weight than people realize until they see the photos later.
A Theatre First Look
Sage and Keegan wanted their first look in the theatre, and yes, that is as cool as it sounds.
A performance hall first look has this built-in drama and intimacy at the same time. It feels cinematic, but it also feels quiet and real, which is exactly what you want for that moment.
A Ceremony That Broke The “Rules” In The Best Way
Their ceremony was intentionally non-traditional.
Instead of the classic “one person waits up front,” they chose to walk down the aisle together, which honestly set the tone immediately. It was less about tradition for tradition’s sake, and more about “we’re doing this side by side.”
They also included a hand-fastening ceremony, which fit their dark romantic vibe perfectly and added a grounded, meaningful moment that everyone could feel.
And yes, they went unplugged, which meant guests were actually watching the ceremony, not watching their phones watch the ceremony.

Portraits With Lots Of Direction
Sage and Keegan told us they wanted a lot of direction, and we love that.
Some couples want to be left alone and just vibe. Some couples want clear, confident prompts and help knowing what to do with their hands. Sage and Keegan were fully in the second camp, and it made portraits easy, relaxed, and actually fun.
Plus, St. Cecilia has multiple rooms that photograph wildly differently, so we were able to keep things interesting without ever leaving the venue.
Reception Energy: Dark Romantic, Then Let’s Party
Their reception kept the same moody romantic look with burgundy and dusty blue tones, plus that “we’re in a gorgeous historic hall” atmosphere that does half the work for you.
They planned for the big moments everyone loves, like cake cutting and their first dance, plus some fun classics like the anniversary dance and a snowball family dance.
