Angie and Ben’s Swan Lake Resort wedding was the perfect mix of sweet, sentimental, and “okay cool, now let’s PARTY.”
A gorgeous outdoor ceremony setup, a newly renovated ballroom, unplugged vows, and then a reception that leaned into Halloween in the best way.
If you’re looking for a venue that keeps your day flowing without having to bounce all over town, Swan Lake Resort is a solid move.
You’ve got that iconic gazebo outside for ceremony moments, and then you step into the ballroom for a reception that feels clean, updated, and ready for a crowd.
It’s one of those venues that makes logistics easier, which means you get more time for photos, more time with your people, and less time stressing.
Angie’s morning started right at Swan Lake, which made everything feel calm and contained.
One of the details she really wanted captured was her wedding jewelry laid out, especially Ben’s grandma’s pearl necklace.
Those heirloom pieces hit different on a wedding day. They’re not just pretty, they’re a connection.
Angie and Ben chose to skip the first look and wait until the ceremony, and honestly, that build-up is always worth it when it’s what the couple wants.
Guests arrived, phones went away for the unplugged ceremony, and everyone was actually locked in watching it happen.
That kind of presence changes the whole vibe. It feels more intimate, even with a bigger guest count.
One of the most meaningful parts of the day was their private vow reading.
It’s quiet, it’s personal, and it gives you a moment together that isn’t for anyone else.
And for couples who want both, heartfelt intimacy and a full-on party later, this is one of the best ways to do it.
Angie wanted a fair amount of direction with a side of candids, which is basically our sweet spot.
We’ll guide you so you don’t feel awkward or wonder what to do with your hands, but we’re also watching for the in-between moments.
The laughs, the “wait, this is real” looks, the little stuff you won’t remember doing until you see it later.
Then the reception hit, and the vibe shifted into full celebration mode.
Black and orange decor, Halloween themed details, and a wedding cake that fully committed to the theme.
Add in “Stand By Me” for the first dance, speeches during dinner, and then it was time for the dance floor to stay busy.
Also, the bridal party had food lovers and Harry Potter fans, which pretty much guarantees good conversations and a good time.
If you’re doing an unplugged ceremony, tell your officiant to remind guests one more time right before you walk out.
That tiny reminder helps a ton, and it keeps your aisle moment clean without phones popping into the frame.
Bonus, your guests actually see you with their eyeballs, which is kind of the whole point.
