Sage, Terracotta, And A Dance Floor That Did Not Quit | Lauren & Brandon

Lauren and Brandon planned a wedding day that felt like them from start to finish. Personal, fun, and the kind of celebration where you can tell the couple genuinely loves being surrounded by their people.

They kept the vibe rustic country with sage and terracotta details, an outdoor ceremony, and a reception that was built for dancing, laughing, and a little chaos in the best way.

Getting Ready In One Spot

One of the best parts of Lauren and Brandon’s day was how streamlined it was. They both got ready on site, which meant less driving, fewer moving pieces, and a calmer start to the day.

Brandon is the extrovert of the two, and it tracks. The guy loves to chat. Fishing, video games, traveling, motorcycles, cars, and music that lives somewhere in the metalcore and dad rock zone. If you want a quiet room, do not give Brandon a topic.

Lauren could talk forever too, just in her own way. Music, TikToks, Brandon, fishing, cats, small animals, her friends, and whatever random thought just showed up. The energy in both rooms was excited, supportive, and very “today is going to be a good day.”

The Details That Made It Feel Personal

Lauren brought detail items to capture, and the sentimental pieces mattered to them. They also planned a memorial table and reserved seating for loved ones who could not be there. Those are the kinds of touches that quietly carry a lot of meaning, even when the day is all celebration.

Their theme was rustic country, but the feeling was more than that. It was intentional without being overdone.

A First Look And Portraits With Plenty Of Direction

Lauren and Brandon chose to do a first look, and they wanted plenty of guidance for portraits. Love that.

Her request was basically, “pose us however you want.” Classic portraits, romantic moments, and fun ones too. That’s the sweet spot. You get the timeless images your future selves will love, and you still get to be your weird, happy selves in between.

An Unplugged Outdoor Ceremony With A Dip

Their ceremony was outdoors, traditional in structure but non-religious, and unplugged. Which we are always going to be a fan of. Clear aisle, guests actually watching the moment, and nobody leaning into the center aisle with a phone like they’re filming a nature documentary.

They also planned a dip, which is a top-tier move when you want that big “we did it” moment right at the end. It’s fun, it photographs great, and it instantly kicks the energy up for the celebration that follows.

Family Photos Without The Awkward

They wanted extended family photos too, which is completely doable when you plan it the right way.

They were also interested in a table dash or a quick “photo dash” song moment during the reception. That is honestly one of the best ways to get photos with a lot of people without turning your cocktail hour into a never-ending lineup.

There were also a couple family dynamics they flagged ahead of time, which is exactly what we want. That small heads up helps keep things smooth and respectful for everyone.

The Reception Was Built For A Party

Lauren and Brandon’s reception plan was simple. Feed people, hit the key moments, then let everyone loose.

They had parent dances, dollar dances, and a group drinking game to Thunderstruck. If you know, you know. That one will either turn your reception into a core memory, or it will expose who cannot keep up. Either way, it is entertaining.

Dessert was also kept easy, with options from Sam’s and Costco. Affordable, simple, and guests are still happy because sugar is sugar and everyone loves a dessert table.

A Private Last Dance To End The Night

One of our favorite things they planned was a private last dance. It’s such a good way to end a high-energy night.

You get a quiet minute together after the crowd, after the noise, after the “oh my gosh that happened so fast” feeling. Just the two of you, soaking it in before you officially call it a night.

A Quick Tip For Couples Who Want Lots Of Family Photos

If you want photos with extended family and friends, keep the formal list tight and do the rest through a table dash or photo dash.

You’ll get way more real reactions, you’ll still have proof you hugged Aunt Linda, and you won’t lose the whole cocktail hour to “okay who’s next.”
