Janyelle described their wedding in three words: “Simply Rustic Elegance (NOT A SHITSHOW).” Honestly, that tells you everything you need to know about the vibe they were going for.
Their Knox Community Center wedding was big, heartfelt, and full of the kind of real moments that happen when you stop obsessing over perfection and focus on what actually matters. People, connection, and a party that feels like home.
Janyelle loved that the venue was simple, flexible, and basically a blank canvas. No weird rules, no forced “venue style,” and plenty of space to make it feel like them.
With a guest count this big, that flexibility matters. The Knox Community Center gave them room to host everyone comfortably, decorate how they wanted, and keep the whole day flowing without feeling cramped or chaotic.
Janyelle had a few must-capture details that made the day feel personal right from the start. A “Heaven table” setup to honor loved ones, a tie shot, bouquet dedication, and cufflinks tied to Kaleb’s grandfathers.
These are the kinds of details we love because they are not just pretty. They mean something. They take a wedding day from “nice” to “this is our story.”
Also, their fun-topic answers for the wedding party were top-tier. Mustaches, hunting, food, wine, kids, and then Kaleb’s crew bringing hunting, cars, and pure chaos energy to the table. Exactly the balance you want.
They chose an unplugged ceremony, and that’s always a win for the vibe. When guests are not filming everything, they’re actually there. Watching. Reacting. Feeling it.
Their ceremony also carried a lot of love and remembrance, with losses acknowledged on both sides of the family. That kind of weight makes the “happy” moments hit even harder, because you can feel how much the day mattered.
And yes, they planned a fun recessional option too, which fits them perfectly.
Janyelle wanted portraits that felt romantic, cozy, playful, and natural, with creative lighting when it fits. They also asked for a little direction “if we seem slightly clueless,” which is the most relatable thing ever.
Their photo plan was smart, too. If the weather played nice, they wanted to use the getting-ready location for bridal party photos. If not, they had a backup vibe they loved, brick textures and downtown Knox right by the community center.
That brick-and-green combo is such a good look. Emerald and gold against gritty textures always photographs insanely well.
This reception had structure, but it still felt like a party. A welcome, cake cutting, a couple speeches, dinner, and then straight into the fun.
Instead of a bouquet toss, Janyelle planned a bouquet dedication to her mother with a short speech. That is the kind of moment that gets everyone misty, then immediately cheers because it’s real and it’s earned.
They also planned dollar dances with multiple songs, which is a great way to actually get time with people. Not a rushed handshake line, but real quick convos and mini dance moments with friends and family who showed up for them.
Then the dance floor opened up, and with a crowd this size, it was always going to be a good time.
If you’re planning a Knox Community Center wedding, pick one or two “meaningful moments” to build the day around, like their bouquet dedication and remembrance touches. Those become the emotional anchors that people remember.
If you want downtown brick portraits, have a weather-friendly backup plan ready, and keep it close to the venue so you’re not burning time in transit.
With a big guest count, assign a family photo wrangler for each side so family photos do not turn into a scavenger hunt. It keeps things calm and gets you back to your guests faster.
If you’re doing dollar dances, plan for more than one song so it doesn’t feel rushed, and you can actually have those quick little conversations that make the night feel personal.
