Maggie and John’s wedding day had that rare combo we love. It was deeply meaningful, wildly fun, and it felt like them in every single part of the day.
They kicked things off in South Bend with Maggie getting ready with her people at a cozy bridal Airbnb. The energy was calm and excited, the kind where everyone’s helping, laughing, and quietly realizing, “Oh wow, this is actually happening.” Meanwhile, John and the guys were at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, getting ready for a ceremony packed with tradition and a few seriously iconic moments.
A Catholic Ceremony With Navy Pride
Maggie and John chose a full Catholic Mass at Saint Patrick’s, and it set the tone right away. It was reverent and emotional, but still full of those little glances and smiles that tell you these two are completely locked in.
John wore his US Navy attire, and military elements were woven into the day in a way that felt respectful and personal, not performative. You could feel how proud their people were of them, and how much the moment mattered.
And then came the moment everyone was waiting for.
The Sword Arch Exit
Right after the ceremony, they stepped into a sword arch at the front of the church, and it was such a strong, unforgettable “we’re married” moment. It’s one of those things that looks incredible in photos, but also hits harder when you’re standing there watching it happen in real time.
Heading To St Joe Farm
After the ceremony, the whole day shifted into celebration mode as everyone made their way to St Joe Farm in Granger.
If you’ve ever been there, you already get it. The vines climbing the barn, the textures, the little pockets of space that make portraits feel adventurous without needing to leave the property. Maggie and John loved the venue for the same reasons we do.
It’s beautiful, it’s fun, and it has that cozy, earthy charm that still feels elevated.

Maggie and John wanted everything to stay simple and focused. No bouncing all over town, no overly complicated photo plan. St Joe Farm gave them everything they needed.
We grabbed their couple portraits around the barn and the vines, plus wedding party and family photos. Maggie and John also had a few extra group requests that mattered a lot to them, including photos with Maggie’s softball childhood friends, her friends from the USS Ross, her Naval Academy people, and John’s friends from Michigan.
It was one of those days where you could tell their community runs deep.
Bright, Earthy, And Romantic Details
Their vision was fun, romantic, earthy, and bright, with shades of blue tying everything together.
They also had heirloom champagne glasses with engraving that they wanted photographed, which is the kind of detail we love because it tells a story. Add in the memorial table and the thoughtful military touches, and the whole day felt grounded in meaning while still being a straight-up party.
They even had a wedding QR code set up so guests could upload their own photos, which is such a smart way to capture extra memories you don’t want to miss.
Dinner, Toasts, And A Packed Dance Floor
Once guests settled in for the reception, it was smooth sailing into the best parts.
There were toasts, a cake cutting, and then the dance floor started doing what it does best at St Joe Farm. Maggie and John’s first dance to “Everything” by Michael Bublé was romantic in that classic, timeless way.
After that, parent dances and an anniversary dance pulled everyone in, which is always a solid reminder that weddings are not just about the couple. They’re about the people who got them there too.
Sparkler Exit To Close It Out
To wrap the night, Maggie and John planned a sparkler exit, which is always a crowd favorite for a reason. It’s high energy, it looks amazing, and it gives you that big celebratory finish that feels like a movie scene.
Also, they’re heading on a safari in the fall for their honeymoon, which is such an epic follow-up to an already epic day.
