From the moment we stepped onto the farm property, we knew Lauren and Matt’s day was going to hit different. They didn’t just plan a wedding—they crafted a day that screamed them in the best way. Vintage furniture, fall florals, and nature as the backdrop? Yes please. Every corner of the venue had a personal touch and a creative twist, inspired by Lauren’s love for bold colors and giving new life to forgotten treasures.
Let’s be honest every wedding has its curveballs. For Lauren and Matt, the pre-ceremony hours were full of mini “oh no” moments, but once they hit the aisle, everything else faded away. That moment? Pure magic. And the real party started right after kicked off with a huge champagne toast with their wedding party and family, celebrating that just-married glow.
Also, shoutout to Lauren’s brother and aunt for rearranging First Date by Blink 182 as her walk-down-the-aisle song. Punk rock meets romance? That’s a power move.
Once the formalities were done, Lauren and Matt got to do what they’d been waiting for all day to hang out with their people. That energy? So good. We grabbed a few moments away for portraits while the light was golden and the fall colors were showing off, then let them dive right back into the celebration.
The way these two relaxed into their reception and soaked up every second of it was the definition of “doing it right.”
From the terracotta and eucalyptus tones to velvet bridesmaid dresses and vintage accents, their whole wedding design felt like a Pinterest board but better, because it was theirs. Their style, their vibe, and their rules.
And can we talk about the food and desserts? Chef’s kiss. Heritage Prairie Farm handled the catering like pros, and the cake from Vanilla Sugar Bakery in Glen Ellyn sealed the deal.
Lauren and Matt shared that the best part of the day was finally letting loose with the people they love, and honestly, it showed. Their biggest advice to other couples?
“Do what YOU want to do. It’s YOUR wedding.”
And we couldn’t agree more.
