When Carlton proposed at the fountain near Palais Royale, the venue decision became pretty obvious. After touring the space, Emily fell in love with the vintage charm of the lobby and the grand ballroom spacious enough to host their celebration but intimate enough to feel personal. Plus, having everything under one roof sealed the deal.
The space felt like them. Timeless. Glamorous. Completely memorable.
Emily hadn’t even planned on shopping for her wedding dress that day. They were supposed to be looking for bridesmaid gowns. But sometimes the universe has other plans. David’s Bridal in Mishawaka made everything effortless, and when Emily slipped into the dress and it was everything she didn’t know she was looking for.
In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Emily focused on keeping things stress-free and drama-free. “No bridezilla energy,” as she put it. The goal was simple: have fun, let go, and let it all fall into place.
And it did.
The couple shared a first look that felt peaceful and grounding just the two of them in a quiet moment before everything kicked off. “It was perfect,” they both said. And we agree.
Their ceremony was full of emotion. Carlton teared up. Emily’s custom engagement ring, made by her sister, shimmered in the light. Family members were honored. And when they said “I do,” it felt like a chapter turning.
From there, it was all celebration.
The reception kicked off with their first dance, and things only got better from there. DJ Visionaries kept the floor buzzing, the photo booth was a surprise hit, and somewhere in the blur of laughter and music, someone’s car almost got towed. (Wedding stories always have one of those.)
This day wasn’t just about the couple it was also about honoring those they love. Emily’s mom made their wedding cake, and her coworker gifted them a ceremonial broom with deep personal meaning. The couple created space for Carlton’s mom to share a few words.
Every detail had meaning. Nothing felt forced. Everything felt like them.
“It was magical and brilliant. I wouldn’t want to wish away even the frazzly bits because I was surrounded by people who helped support me.” – Emily
“Dancing with my wife. That was my favorite part.” – Carlton
