Elizabeth and Jon didn’t just plan a wedding they created an experience. From emotional tributes to late-night sparkler exits, every piece of their day at Something Blue Berry Farm in Bangor, Michigan was filled with intention, heart, and the kind of fun you never want to end. This wasn’t your run-of-the-mill wedding. It was rustic, romantic, and full of personality just like the couple themselves.
The day kicked off at the farm, with the wedding party prepping and laughing together while KLW Beauty and Danielle Black worked their magic on hair and makeup. We started capturing those important little details—like Elizabeth’s bouquet, which included a memorial pin honoring her father, and a customized aisle runner created in his memory. These were the kind of meaningful touches that made the day feel deeply personal from the start.
Elizabeth and Jon opted to skip the first look, waiting to see each other until the ceremony and when they did, it was worth the wait. With guests seated under the open sky and the gorgeous backdrop of Something Blue Berry Farm surrounding them, Jon saw his bride for the first time and everything else faded away.
Officiated by Rory O’Day, their unplugged outdoor ceremony was heartfelt and beautiful. One of our favorite moments? Before the ceremony began, guests were encouraged to pull out their phones and send well wishes—an intentional mix of “be present” and “we still want your pics.” Genius. With memorials for lost loved ones, a deeply personal message from Rory, and the most supportive family and friends, it was the kind of ceremony that sticks with you.
After the vows, the party kicked off with BBQ from Finley’s Catering, heartfelt speeches, and one of the sweetest first dances we’ve seen set to “Then” by Brad Paisley. Elizabeth also had a surprise moment up her sleeve, planning an impromptu mother-daughter dance that had everyone tearing up. There was cake (thanks to Tiajuana Newson-Jackson), laughter, and even a dollar dance to keep the vibes high. But the grand finale? A sparkler send-off that lit up the farm in all the best ways.
