Vince and Tiffany’s proposal at Notre Dame was the kind of moment you feel in your chest.
He planned a surprise proposal inside the Basilica, and once it happened, everything else melted away. The nerves, the disbelief, the happy tears, and the “oh my gosh, this is real” energy that follows right after.
The Basilica at the University of Notre Dame is one of the most iconic places you can choose for a proposal.
It’s timeless, meaningful, and it instantly makes the moment feel huge in the best way. The setting is breathtaking, but the real magic is what happens between the two of you when the question is asked.
There’s always a split second when the person being proposed to realizes what’s happening.
Tiffany’s reaction was everything. Surprise, emotion, laughter, and then that immediate wave of joy when she said yes.
That’s why proposal coverage matters. The moment goes fast, but the photos let you relive it forever.
After the proposal, we gave them a minute to breathe and then took a little walk around campus for “just engaged” portraits.
This is always one of our favorite parts because the energy shifts. The nerves are gone and it turns into pure excitement.
We kept it relaxed, found great light, and captured a mix of scenic Notre Dame backdrops and tighter portraits that felt personal and real.
1) Confirm photo rules ahead of time.
Some spaces have restrictions. Having a plan keeps everything smooth.
2) Keep the plan simple.
A clean plan is easier to execute and easier to enjoy.
3) Have a signal.
A quick cue helps us be in the right place at the right time without drawing attention.
4) Build in time for portraits after.
Even 15 to 30 minutes after the yes gives you a full set of “we’re engaged!” images while the эмоtion is still fresh.
If you’re planning a proposal at Notre Dame and want it captured in a way that feels real and not staged, we’d love to help.
We’ll help you plan the timing, stay discreet, and make sure you can focus on the moment while we handle the rest.
