Allison and Nick’s wedding day was the perfect mix of meaningful and straight-up fun.
It started out slow and intentional, with the two of them getting ready separately at different homes, then it built into this beautiful farm ceremony, and it ended exactly how it should, at The Brick with a party that was absolutely not messing around.
There’s something really special about getting ready apart.
It keeps the anticipation high, it gives you a little breathing room before everything kicks off, and it makes that first moment you see each other feel even bigger.
Allison and Nick both had that calm-but-excited energy. The kind where you can tell they’re ready for the day, but also taking it in.
Their ceremony had that warm, grounded farm wedding vibe, and then they added a unity tree to it, which was such a cool touch.
It’s one of those ceremony moments that feels symbolic without feeling cheesy. It’s visual, it’s intentional, and it turns into something you can actually take with you after the day is over.
It was a quiet “this matters” moment in the middle of a day that was moving fast.
After the ceremony, we headed to Notre Dame for portraits and it was such a strong part of their story.
We hit the Notre Dame football field for those iconic, once-in-a-lifetime photos, then made our way to Touchdown Jesus for a few more “yep, we’re really here” shots.
It was the perfect contrast to the farm setting. Classic, bold, and full of that Notre Dame energy.
And then we rolled into The Brick, and the whole day shifted gears.
If you’ve ever been to a Brick reception, you already know it has a certain kind of chaos in the best way.
Allison and Nick’s people showed up ready, and the night turned into one heck of a party with the kind of dance floor that never really takes a break.
Loud laughs, big hugs, and that “I can’t believe this is our life” joy.
If you’re thinking about doing portraits at an iconic spot like Notre Dame, plan for it to be a “reset” moment in your day.
It’s not just about the photos, it’s about giving yourselves a little time together to breathe, laugh, and let it sink in before the reception kicks off.
It helps the whole day feel less rushed and way more intentional.
