Some weddings feel like a Pinterest board. This Whispering Oaks Wedding felt like Brittany and Jon, through and through. They wanted a country, boho, farmhouse vibe close to home.
So, Whispering Oaks delivered the perfect backdrop for their day. Even better, they built the whole celebration around family.
Because of that, the emotions hit hard in the best way.
Choosing Whispering Oaks came easy for these two.
They love barn style spaces, and they wanted something nearby. The property gave them that classic farmhouse feel. Plus, it offered plenty of room to breathe, laugh, and roam. Brittany also loved the overall relaxed energy. Meanwhile, Jon’s crew could talk motorcycles and beer for hours.
Brittany and Jon chose a first look. As a result, they got quiet time together before guests arrived. They leaned into cozy, playful portraits around the venue. Then, they switched gears and got serious when the moment asked. That balance fit them perfectly. Because of that, the day stayed calm, even when weather felt unpredictable.
Brittany’s brother, Evan, officiated the ceremony. So, every word carried extra meaning for the couple. They kept the ceremony outdoors and straightforward. Then, they sealed it with big smiles and happy tears. One detail stood out in the best way. Jon’s grandpa signed as a witness on their marriage license. That moment mattered to Brittany the most. She said grandpa’s smile became the highlight of the whole Whispering Oaks Wedding.
This Whispering Oaks Wedding included family pieces you cannot fake.
Brittany tied Jon’s grandma’s dress around her bouquet for a heartfelt tribute. Also, their cake topper came from Jon’s grandpa’s wedding over 70 years ago. That tiny detail carried a whole family story into the reception. They also featured handmade woodwork decor throughout the day. Jon’s 94-year-old grandpa created many of those pieces by hand. So, the venue felt personal in every corner. Even better, guests noticed the craftsmanship and kept asking about it.
Brittany planned this day for a long time. Therefore, the boho barn vibe showed up in all the right places. They added an audio guestbook for messages and laughs.
Then, they built a flip flop station that guests loved later. Those kinds of touches make a reception feel easy. Plus, they give people something to do between dances.
After cocktail hour, everyone slid into dinner and conversation. Then, the toasts kicked off, and the room got emotional fast. Later, they played the shoe game and got the whole crowd involved. After that, their first dance hit, and the energy shifted again. They followed it with meaningful family dances. Then, they jumped into an anniversary dance that pulled everyone closer. From there, the party took over. So, Brittany and Jon spent the rest of the night celebrating with their favorite people.
Brittany and Jon kept their advice simple. Do a trip instead, and put your money toward life together. They also reminded couples to stay flexible. Because of that, you can enjoy the day instead of fighting every detail. Most of all, they focused on family. And honestly, that choice made their Whispering Oaks Wedding unforgettable.
