Malcolm’s promo photo session was all about creating images that feel bold, fun, and ready to use everywhere.
We started at IKEA for clean, modern backdrops and a little playful “real life” energy, then switched it up at Selfie World for colorful, content-heavy visuals that feel made for the internet.
One of the easiest ways to make a promo session feel dynamic is to plan it in chapters.
IKEA gave us a modern, styled look without needing a full set build, and Selfie World gave us bold color, patterns, and backdrops that instantly pop. Together, it created a gallery that feels varied while still staying cohesive.
IKEA is honestly a sneaky-good location for promo photos.
The clean lines, staged rooms, and modern lighting create a polished look fast, and there’s so much variety that you can move ten feet and get a completely different background. We leaned into that, capturing portraits that felt stylish, casual, and content-ready without feeling over-produced.
Then we turned the energy up at Selfie World.
This part of the session was built for bold visuals. Bright colors, fun backdrops, and a vibe that makes it easy to be expressive and playful. It’s perfect for promo photos when you want options that stand out in a scroll and work great for posts, stories, thumbnails, and announcements.
IKEA gives you clean, modern, lifestyle energy.
Selfie World gives you color, personality, and “pay attention” visuals. Mixing the two means Malcolm ended up with a gallery that can cover a lot of needs, professional promo, fun social content, and everything in between.
1) Plan for multiple looks.
Even two locations can give you enough variety for months of content.
2) Bring outfit options.
A quick change can help match the vibe of each location.
3) Think about usage.
Social, posters, thumbnails, press kit, we can shoot with those formats in mind.
If you want a promo session that feels creative, content-ready, and true to your personality, we’d love to help.
We’ll plan it with intention, keep it comfortable, and deliver a gallery you can use everywhere.
