McKenna and Darby’s engagement session had that kind of countryside calm that instantly makes you slow down.
We photographed them on a private property farm setting, wide open space, rustic textures, and that “this feels like us” energy that you just can’t fake.
Farm sessions are the best because they feel personal.
Whether it’s your family’s place, a friend’s property, or a meaningful spot you’ve spent time together, private land gives you space to breathe and be yourselves.
No crowds. No awkward “are we in someone’s way?” moments. Just you two, a whole lot of room to move around, and backgrounds that look straight-up timeless.
We leaned into everything the property gave us. Open fields, natural textures, and those simple backdrops that make your connection the main focus.
McKenna and Darby were relaxed from the start, which is always the goal. The more it feels like a normal day together, the more the candids show up.
We kept the direction light, gave them space to move, laugh, and stay close, and let the farm setting do what it does best.
There’s something about being on private land that changes everything.
You can take your time. You can stop wherever the light looks good. You can do your thing without worrying about people watching or getting in the shot.
That comfort shows up in photos, and it’s a big reason sessions like this end up feeling so authentic.
1) Keep outfits true to your vibe.
You do not need to dress like a “Pinterest farm session” unless that’s actually you. Wear what feels like you, just a little more polished.
2) Plan for walking.
Boots, comfortable shoes, and layers are always a good call on private property.
3) Bring one simple “activity” if you want.
A blanket, a drink, a small picnic, or even just walking the property together gives your hands something to do and makes candids happen naturally.
4) Permission matters.
If it’s not your property, make sure the owner is totally good with photos there. We’ll always be respectful and keep it easy.
If you want engagement photos that feel relaxed, personal, and full of real moments, a private property or family farm session is such a good move.
Tell us your vibe and what kind of land you have access to, and we’ll help you turn it into a session that feels like you two.
