A The Brick wedding is for couples who want the vibe baked in.
You know that feeling when a space already looks good before you add a single thing? That’s The Brick. Big character, textured walls, moody atmosphere, and that kind of industrial warmth that makes photos look timeless without trying too hard.
Whitney and Layne described their wedding in three words: fun, funky, glam.
They absolutely nailed it.
They picked The Brick because the aesthetic does the heavy lifting. The atmosphere, the brick, the doors, all of it.
They didn’t want to fight a venue with a million decorations. They wanted a space that already felt like a vibe so they could focus on the parts that actually matter.
That choice paid off in the best way.
A wedding at The Brick gives you a clean canvas with personality. It makes every moment feel elevated, even the chaotic ones.
Whitney and Layne wanted a first look, and it was the perfect move.
It gave them a real moment together before everything got loud.
It also made the rest of the day feel smoother because portraits and wedding party photos weren’t rushed or crammed into a tiny window later. They got to be present for cocktail hour and actually enjoy being surrounded by their people.
That’s the whole point.
Their ceremony was unplugged, which we love.
Not because we’re anti-phones in a “rules are rules” way. It’s because it changes the energy in the room. Guests are actually watching. They’re reacting. They’re laughing at the right times and tearing up when it hits.
Whitney and Layne also included a unity moment with Whitney’s two daughters, which made the ceremony feel bigger than just two people signing paperwork. It felt like a team forming.
Whitney later said one of the moments that will stick with them forever was that instant when she turned the corner and started walking up the aisle. That’s the kind of memory that stays sharp for decades.
They told us they wanted a fair amount of direction, and their photo vibe list was basically our whole personality: romantic, cozy, playful, silly, creative lighting, and natural.
So that’s what we leaned into.
Guidance when it helps. Space when it matters.
The goal is always the same. Make it feel like you, not like you’re performing “wedding photos.”
Whitney and Layne went into the day with high expectations and ended up being surprised by how much fun they had.
That’s not an accident. That’s what happens when the pieces that matter are handled.
They even gave some real-deal advice for future couples: focus on food, music, and photos. The little stuff is just little stuff.
And speaking of fun, one of the biggest surprises of the night was a surprise slideshow. They told us it was great, unexpected, and they heard multiple compliments from guests about it.
That’s one of our favorite kinds of feedback because it means the experience was felt, not just delivered.
Instead of a traditional guest book, they did a wall-hangable board with hexagons.
That’s the kind of personal touch we love. It’s interactive, it looks cool, and it turns into something you actually display instead of tossing in a drawer forever.
If you’re planning a weeding at The Brick and want one unique detail that’s not Pinterest copy-paste, this is a solid idea to steal.
Whitney’s favorite part of the day was watching people have a good time, especially the crew going hard on the dance floor.
They specifically called out seeing all the girls dancing through the night, which tells you everything you need to know about the energy.
When a dance floor becomes the memory, you did the wedding right.
And yes, there was also a secret mother-son dance, which is the kind of surprise that always hits. It’s sweet, it’s personal, and it catches guests off guard in the best way.
Let the venue do what it does best. The Brick already has the vibe. Build around it instead of over-decorating.
Consider an unplugged ceremony. It changes the whole room. More presence, more emotion, fewer glowing screens in your aisle photos.
Want portraits that feel natural? Ask for direction. You don’t have to “know how to pose.” That’s our job.
Pick one memorable detail. Their hexagon guest book board was perfect. One unique touch beats ten random ones.
If you’re anxious about the little things, assign roles. Whitney said the biggest stress was making sure the easy-to-forget stuff got handled by somebody. That “somebody” should not be you.
