Vivian and Nick’s wedding day was the perfect mix of intentional, romantic, and straight-up fun. They planned an outdoor celebration at MillCreek Wilde in Watervliet, Michigan, with maroon, sage green, and white details, glowing gazebo lights, and the kind of venue layout that keeps guests hanging out together all night.

And because these two are all about the moment, they chose to wait to see each other until the ceremony. No first look. Just that classic, “here we go” energy when the music hits and you finally lock eyes for the first time.

A Celebration With Vietnamese Traditions

One of the most meaningful parts of their day was incorporating Vietnamese traditions during the reception, including visiting each table during or after dinner. It’s a beautiful way to connect with every guest, and it turns the reception into something that feels personal, not just scheduled.

With around 95 guests, it was the sweet spot for that too. Big enough to feel like a party, small enough to still feel like you truly got time with everyone.

Portraits With Direction, And All The Cozy Vibes

Vivian and Nick wanted plenty of direction for portraits, and that’s honestly the best move if you want clean, flattering photos without feeling like you have to “figure out what to do” in the moment.

That maroon and sage palette played so well against the venue’s outdoor backdrop, especially as the day shifted into evening. Romantic, cozy, and just a little dramatic in the best way.

Vivian wore a Maggie Sottero gown (Giana Lynette), which fit the vibe perfectly. Timeless, elegant, and made for those soft, glowy outdoor photos.

First Dance Energy And A Night That Kept Moving

Their first dance song was “Life With You” by Kelsey Hart, and it set the tone for the night. Sweet, grounded, and very “this is our person” in the best way.

And the best part about weddings at places like MillCreek Wilde is how naturally the night flows. People drift from the dance floor to the gazebo lights to the firepit, then back again. It feels like a real hang, just dressed up.

The Ending Everyone Waits For

Vivian and Nick planned a fun exit with glow sticks. That kind of send-off is always a crowd-pleaser, and it’s the perfect “final scene” for a day that already felt like a movie.
