Zachary and Margaret’s engagement session had the best kind of variety.
We started at the Elkhart Airport for some aviation-inspired portraits, then headed downtown to switch things up with city textures, walking shots, and a relaxed “date night” feel.
If aviation is part of your story, an airport session is such a cool way to make your engagement photos feel personal.
The planes, hangars, and open runway space create clean, modern backdrops that feel unique without being overly complicated. It’s also one of those settings that naturally adds a little cinematic vibe to the photos.
We kept things relaxed and captured a mix of portraits that highlighted the location while still keeping the focus on Zachary and Margaret.
After the airport, we headed downtown to bring in a totally different feel.
Brick textures, sidewalks, storefronts, and those little pockets of light that make city portraits feel modern and timeless at the same time. The contrast worked perfectly. Scenic and bold at the airport, then cozy and real-life downtown.
We kept the second half moving like a casual walk together, which is always the easiest way to get natural photos.
You get a full story in one session.
A personal, meaningful location that reflects who you are, plus a downtown walk that adds variety and movement. It creates a gallery that feels complete without needing a bunch of scattered locations.
1) Plan ahead for access.
We always want to be respectful of airport rules and operations, so permission and safe areas matter.
2) Dress for wind.
Airports are open spaces, so outfits that move well photograph beautifully.
3) Consider two outfits.
A slightly dressier look for the airport and a more casual look for downtown can add variety.
If you want engagement photos that tell a real story, pairing a meaningful location with a downtown stroll is a great move.
We’ll help you plan the flow, guide you through everything, and capture a gallery that feels natural, personal, and true to you.
