Some weddings feel like one big inside joke between two best friends—and that’s exactly the vibe Sarah and Brad brought to their celebration at Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, Michigan. From emotional moments with family to a dance floor that stayed lit all night, their day was a nonstop mix of joy, personality, and a whole lot of laughter.
The day kicked off with Sarah getting ready alongside her closest crew, chatting about cats (obviously), and soaking up those pre-ceremony butterflies. Her sister, Allison, doubled as hair stylist and support squad MVP. Meanwhile, Brad and the guys were talking music, cracking jokes, and keeping things relaxed before the real fun began.
The ceremony took place in a warm, industrial space with rich wood, exposed beams, and that kind of rustic charm that makes everything feel a little more magical. Officiated by Sarah’s grandpa, Randy, it was a heartfelt, non-religious ceremony filled with meaning, personality, and a few happy tears.
When Sarah and Brad were finally announced as married, the room erupted.
We stayed close to Journeyman for all their portraits, using the textures, greenery, and bold backdrops of the space to create images that felt romantic and a little edgy with the perfect amount of playful. The love was obvious, the light was soft, and they made every photo ridiculously easy to capture.
Once guests made their way into the Grainery reception space, it was all about great food, hilarious speeches, and an undeniable energy. Their first dance to “No Greater Love” by Amy Winehouse hit every emotional note.
Then came the surprise moves and a packed dance floor powered by O’Dea Productions. It was chaotic in the best way and they wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Sarah and Brad’s wedding was never going to be traditional and that’s exactly what made it unforgettable. Every part of the day felt personal, honest, and rooted in who they are together. They weren’t trying to impress anyone they just wanted to be surrounded by the people they love, dancing, laughing, and living it up.
And that’s exactly what they did.
