If you’re dreaming up a Morris Estate wedding, Nicole and Archie’s day is such a good example of why this place hits different. You get the onsite lodging, catering and decor included, that adorable little white chapel, and scenery that feels like a cozy getaway without the headache of building your wedding from scratch.
And then life did that thing it does, it got even more meaningful. Nicole found out her grandpa worked at The Morris Estate. The venue wasn’t just “pretty,” it was connected to her family in a way nobody expected. The kind of full-circle moment that makes you stop and go, yeah… this was always the spot.
Nicole and Archie chose The Morris Estate because it made the whole weekend easier for everyone. Guests could stay on site, everything flowed in one location, and the property itself gave them a romantic, outdoorsy backdrop while still keeping the day feeling classic and timeless.
It was also close to family, in Nicole’s dad’s hometown, which mattered a lot. It felt personal right from the start. The kind of place where you do not just show up for a wedding day, you settle in and actually get to be present.
Nicole found her dress at Luv Bridal in Denver, Colorado, the same spot where her sister chose her dress too. She tried on a ton of styles, then circled right back to the one.
And here’s the wild part. When she put it on, their sunflower song played. The same song the wedding party walked down the aisle to later. Total chills.
The dress had that fairytale princess vibe, and Nicole loved being able to switch it up by removing the sleeves. Two looks, one dress, and she absolutely owned it.
Nicole told us she was most anxious about all the setup and making sure everything and everyone was in place. Then she brought it back to what actually mattered: focusing on the fact that it was about the two of them.
Her most anticipated moments were seeing Archie’s face at the first look, walking down the aisle to him, and saying “yes” instead of “I do.” Which is honestly iconic.
Their first look was breathless, quiet, and full of that barely-holding-it-together kind of joy. One of those moments where you can feel the love before either person says a word.
Nicole said the biggest surprise was how much Archie smiled, and it became a running theme of the day.
There was even an embroidered line inside his suit that said: “I’m fucking smiling.” Because Nicole asked him more than once, “Are you smiling?” That detail is the kind of inside joke that instantly becomes part of your family lore.
Nicole and Archie packed their day with meaning, without it ever feeling forced.
Their friend Bobby officiated, which made the ceremony feel extra personal.
Nicole wore the gold bracelet her dad wore on his wedding day, and without even realizing it, Archie gifted his groomsmen similar bracelets. One of those sweet coincidences that makes you believe the day was stitched together by something bigger than planning spreadsheets.
They had guests sign a pair of skis that Nicole and her dad painted together. A guestbook that is not going in a drawer, it is going to live in their home with a story attached.
And Nicole’s opa walked her down the aisle, and she was the first grandchild he’s done that for, even though he has a whole army of grandkids. That one lands right in the heart.
Give yourself more time than you think you need, especially in the getting-ready portion of the day. The more margin you build in, the more you get to breathe, be present, and actually enjoy the moments you will want to remember most.
By the end of the night, Nicole said it was a dream come true. They danced, they laughed so hard they cried, and they soaked in that feeling of being wildly loved by the people who showed up for them.
There were silly surprise moments too, like the new brothers-in-law bringing out some absolutely unhinged dance moves.
There was also a lot of emotion woven through the day. Nicole shared how much it meant to have their wedding captured so they can share it with family who could not be there in the way they wished. That kind of photo and video matter is not about “content,” it is about keeping people close.
