Kayla and Thomas’ engagement session at St. Patrick’s County Park was all about the pretty pockets of the park that people don’t always think to use.
We spent time in the wildflower fields first, then wrapped things up down by the river for a completely different look, all without leaving St. Pat’s.
If you want engagement photos that feel soft, natural, and a little dreamy without being overly styled, the wildflower fields at St. Pat’s are such a good choice.
That open space gives you clean backgrounds, beautiful depth, and plenty of room to move around, which helps everything feel relaxed instead of posed.
We started in the wildflowers and let the session ease in naturally.
This part is always a favorite because it’s simple. Just the two of you, open space, and soft texture all around. We captured a mix of classic portraits and those in-between moments while they walked, laughed, and stayed close.
Kayla and Thomas were comfortable together from the start, and the wildflower setting made everything feel effortless.
After the fields, we headed down by the river for the second half of the session.
Riverfront spots add instant depth to photos. The water, the trees, and the way the light changes along the path gives you a more grounded, scenic look that balances really well with the softness of the wildflowers.
It was the perfect way to finish the session and give their gallery two totally different vibes in one location.
1) Plan for a little walking.
This combo works best when we can move between the fields and the river areas.
2) Choose outfits that feel timeless.
Neutrals, soft tones, and simple layers photograph beautifully in both settings.
3) Embrace movement.
Walking photos in the fields and along the river are usually the ones that feel the most real.
If you love the idea of a single-location session with two totally different looks, St. Pat’s is a great option.
We’ll guide you to the best spots, keep it relaxed, and capture photos that feel like you two from start to finish.
