Austin and Emily’s engagement session was the perfect mix of fun and laid-back.
We started at Lucky Hatchet for axe throwing, then switched it up with a calm walk and portraits at Toscana Park. It felt like a real date day, just captured along the way.
Axe throwing sessions are always a win because you’re not stuck wondering what to do with your hands.
There’s built-in interaction, plenty of laughs, and a little friendly competition that brings out real reactions. We grabbed a mix of action moments, candid reactions, and a few quick portraits in between while keeping the vibe easy and fun.
Austin and Emily leaned into it, and it made the first half of the session feel effortless.
This combo is one of our favorites for engagement sessions.
The activity portion helps you relax and creates candid moments. Then the park portion gives you those classic portraits you’ll want to frame. Two different vibes, one story, and it never feels forced.
1) Plan two outfits if you can.
Something casual for the axe throwing, then slightly elevated for the park.
2) Wear shoes you can move in.
You’ll be on your feet for both locations.
3) Embrace the fun.
The best photos from activity sessions come from real reactions, not perfect form.
If you want engagement photos that feel fun, relaxed, and true to you, combining an activity with a park stop is a great move.
Tell us what you love doing together and we’ll help plan a session that feels natural from start to finish.
