Guendolen and James’ engagement session in Michigan City was the best kind of combo.
We started at Zorn Brew Works for that cozy, date-night brewery vibe, then headed to the beach for Lake Michigan views and a totally different feel to finish the story.
Zorn is such a great first stop for engagement photos.
Warm lighting, great textures, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in. Brewery sessions are perfect because you’re doing something together. You’re talking, laughing, hanging out, and the photos naturally feel more candid because of it.
After the brewery, we took things lakeside.
The beach adds that open, airy look with clean backgrounds, water views, and a little wind that makes everything feel alive. It’s the perfect contrast to the cozy indoor vibe from the first half of the session.
We kept it moving along the shoreline, grabbed a mix of wide scenic shots and tighter portraits, and let the session feel like a real walk together.
This combo gives you two totally different vibes without feeling scattered.
The brewery brings personality and warmth. The beach brings calm, scenery, and timeless portraits. Together, it creates a gallery that feels full and story-driven, like you two spent the day together and we just happened to capture it.
1) Plan two outfits.
One that fits the brewery vibe, then one that feels a little more relaxed or elevated for the beach.
2) Keep shoes walkable.
Between downtown and the shoreline, comfort matters.
3) Expect wind at the beach.
Outfits that move well look incredible in lakefront photos.
If you want engagement photos that feel like a real day together, pairing a favorite spot like Zorn with a beach finish is such a good move.
We’ll help you plan the flow, keep it relaxed, and capture photos that feel natural from start to finish.
