Erica and James threw the kind of wedding where you can tell, in the first five minutes, that the rest of the day is going to be a good time.
Not “look how perfect everything is” energy.
More like, “We built this day to feel like us, and we’re about to have a blast doing it.”
This wasn’t just a couple subtle nods and a logo tossed on a sign.
Their Uptown Center wedding had real Marvel Avengers personality woven into the day, and it was done in a way that still felt classy and intentional.
A lot of it was DIY too, which made it even better because you could tell there was love and effort in every little decision.
Two of our favorite details were the comic book-wrapped shoes and the comic book-wrapped florals.
Those kinds of touches are the sweet spot for theme weddings.
They are bold enough to make people smile, but still clean and photo-friendly so they don’t overpower everything else.
Before the party started, Erica and James took a quiet moment for a first look.
It was simple, sweet, and exactly what it should be.
Just the two of them, a deep breath, and that “oh dang, we’re really doing this” kind of smile.
Once the formal stuff wrapped up, the energy shifted hard.
The reception was hype from the jump and it stayed that way.
The kind of night where the dance floor never really clears, people are yelling lyrics like they mean it, and every few minutes someone is doing something that makes the whole room lose it.
Erica and James were fully in it, which is always the secret ingredient.
If you’re doing a theme wedding, pick a few “hero moments” and go all in on those.
Details like shoes, bouquets, signage, and little DIY accents photograph incredibly well and they keep the theme feeling intentional instead of overwhelming.
It’s the difference between “this is a themed wedding” and “this is our wedding, and it just happens to be awesome.”
