If you’ve ever thought, “What if we skip the big production and just do something that feels like us?”
Shelby and Aaron nailed that vibe in New Orleans.
It was intentional, laid-back, and still somehow felt like a full-on celebration.
They got ready separately, which built up that nervous-excited energy in the best way.
Then we rolled straight into a first look that felt equal parts calm and electric.
That quiet moment where it’s just the two of you, and the whole day finally becomes real.
After the first look, they arrived together at their ceremony spot at the Tree of Life.
There’s something really powerful about choosing to walk into the moment side by side, like, “Yep. This is our team. Let’s do the thing.”
The setting did what New Orleans does best, it gave them history, texture, and that soft, cinematic kind of beauty without needing anything extra.
And then they did the most New Orleans reception possible.
They hit Bourbon Street for their after party, which meant music spilling out of doorways, neon everywhere, and that chaotic-fun energy you can’t fake.
It wasn’t a “sit down for dinner and listen to speeches” kind of celebration.
It was a “we just got married, let’s go live” kind of celebration.
If you’re eloping in a city like New Orleans, plan for two types of photos.
One set that’s calm and intimate (first look + ceremony), and one set that’s pure movement and story (your after party, street moments, whatever your version of fun looks like).
That mix is where the day really comes alive.
