Christine and Chris’ engagement session in Mishawaka was the perfect mix of classic and personal.
We kept the session rooted in a laid-back downtown stroll, but they brought in subtle World of Warcraft nods that made the whole thing feel uniquely them.
Downtown Mishawaka is a great backdrop when you want a session that feels modern, relaxed, and easy to move through.
We walked, talked, and grabbed portraits in pockets of good light, letting the city textures do the work while keeping the focus on them.
This is the sweet spot for incorporating fandom into engagement photos.
Not a full cosplay session (unless you want that), but little details that feel like an inside joke between the two of you. Whether it was a prop, a subtle accessory, or references that meant something to them, it added personality without overpowering the session.
It gave us a gallery that still felt timeless, but with those extra layers that make you smile when you look back at it.
The best engagement sessions always feel like the couple.
Adding small nods to something you both love makes the photos more personal, and it usually helps couples relax too. It gives you something to interact with and it turns the session into more of an experience.
1) Keep it subtle if you want the photos to stay timeless.
A few small elements can say a lot without taking over the whole gallery.
2) Choose a location that still works without the theme.
That way you get a mix of classic portraits and the fun personal moments.
3) Focus on interaction, not props.
The nods are the accent. The connection is the main story.
If you want engagement photos that feel relaxed and timeless, but still include the little things you both love, we’re all in.
We’ll help you build a session that feels personal without feeling forced, and we’ll capture a gallery that you’ll still love years from now.
