Ashley and Austin’s Morris Estate wedding had the kind of energy that makes you grin behind the camera. It was sweet, playful, and unapologetically them. Ashley told us she wanted a cute little white chapel, and Morris Estate checked every box. Add in spring vibes, fantasy details, and a couple who clearly adore each other, and you’ve got a wedding day that felt like a storybook without trying too hard.
Also, yes, there were elf ears. We will absolutely be talking about that.
Ashley’s vision started with one main thing: a white chapel. She wanted something charming and classic, but still cozy and intimate. Morris Estate delivered on that, plus all the extra pieces that make the day run smoothly in one location.
It was the kind of venue where you can lean into romance, keep things simple, and still have plenty of spots for portraits that feel natural instead of forced.
Ashley knew what she wanted in her dress: illusion sleeves and buttons, with a goal that was honestly iconic. She wanted to emulate a fairy as much as possible.
Mission accomplished.
And then came the surprise that made the whole thing even better: the elf ears. Ashley said that was one of the biggest surprises of the day, and it absolutely became one of those details everyone will remember forever.
Ashley said the most anticipated part of the day was seeing Austin’s face when the doors opened.
That moment hit exactly how you want it to. Quiet nerves, then that instant shift into “oh. this is real.” The kind of reaction you don’t have to manufacture, you just step back and let it happen.
And later, when they were pronounced life partners, that was the moment that stuck with them. Simple, powerful, and completely centered on what mattered.
They used Hero Forge to make their wedding cake toppers, which is such a perfect “if you know, you know” detail.
It wasn’t a gimmick. It was a little nod to who they are, sitting right in the middle of a classic wedding tradition. Those are the kinds of choices that make a wedding feel personal fast.
You know the moment. The one that could have been stressful, but becomes the story you tell forever.
For Ashley and Austin, it was getting stuck in the woods and having to pull an Austin Powers-style maneuver through the trees. Spring wedding, fairy vibes, and a comedy scene in the forest. Honestly, no notes.
Ashley’s one-word review of the end of the day was: relief.
Which, same.
Not because anything went wrong, but because weddings are a huge emotional build-up. When you finally get to exhale and go, “We did it. We’re married,” it hits different.
Ashley’s advice is the kind we’ll happily co-sign:
Don’t worry about what others or society think. Do whatever makes you happy as a couple.
If you want elf ears, do elf ears. If you want Hero Forge cake toppers, do it. If you want a quiet chapel moment that feels like a movie scene, chase that. The more “you” it is, the better it photographs and the better it feels.
