Katie and David got married at Country Strong Events in Goshen, Indiana, and their whole day had that perfect mix of “we’re so excited” and “holy crap this is actually happening.” Their three words for the day were stressful, exciting, and nervous, which honestly feels extremely accurate for a wedding day. The cool part is, once the wheels started turning, their people showed up hard, and the vibes got real sweet, real fast.
They also picked a venue they genuinely loved. Not just “it’s pretty.” More like, “No notes, we love everything.” The pond, the barn, the swing, all the little buildings around the property. Country Strong gives you a ton of variety without needing to travel, which is always a win when you want great photos and a smooth timeline.
Katie started getting ready at Country Strong with her people close by and plenty of time to settle in. Her bridal party’s favorite conversations are true crime and books, which means if you walked into that room you either heard a plot twist or a “no wait, you have to read this” recommendation within 30 seconds.
One of the most meaningful details Katie wanted captured was a charm on her bouquet. Those little pieces matter. They’re the kind of thing you might not notice in the moment, but later, that photo hits different.
David was on site too, arriving earlier with his crew, and their whole hangout vibe was Marvel, video games, and Legos. Basically, the kind of group that can entertain themselves forever and still show up looking sharp when it counts.
Katie and David chose to do a first look, and they wanted lots of direction for portraits. That’s our favorite combo. You get the relaxed “we’ve seen each other, we can breathe now” energy, plus you still get guided, flattering, intentional photos that don’t feel stiff.
Because everything happened on the Country Strong property, we had plenty of time to bounce between spots and grab a mix of natural, romantic, playful, and creative lighting. Their photo vibe list was basically “yes,” which always makes for a fun gallery.
Katie and David kept it simple in the best way. No complicated restrictions, no weird rules, just a solid ceremony led by Sally Horvath and a plan to soak it in.
They were still deciding about an unplugged ceremony, and they also planned to do a receiving line afterward. That combo can work really well if you want to make sure you get a moment with everyone before the night runs away from you.
Now, we have to talk about the moment everyone will remember forever.
Katie walking down the aisle to Eminem.
Absolutely unhinged in the best way. Icon behavior. Ten out of ten. No notes.
They also had a stacked lineup of moments: mother son dance, a brother and bride dance, an anniversary dance, and maybe even a dollar dance. Plus a cake cutting and a bouquet and garter toss later in the night. This was built for guests who came to celebrate, not just politely attend.
Their first dance song was “Dance With You” by Brett Young, which is a sweet contrast to the Eminem ceremony entrance. That is range.
Their color palette was dusty blue, and the florals were sunflowers and lilacs mixed with wildflower-style blooms. It gave the whole day that bright, happy, slightly rustic vibe that fits Country Strong perfectly.
And yes, their hashtag was #TilDeathDoUsParm. Legendary.
