Kitt and Hunter didn’t want anything stiff or overly formal. They wanted something that felt like them. Small, relaxed, and full of personality.
So they brought their people into the woods and made it a whole vibe.
Bendix Woods Park was the perfect backdrop for it too. Trees, soft light, and that quiet “we’re in our own little world” feeling that makes an outdoor ceremony hit different.
One of my favorite parts of their day was how they walked into the ceremony together.
No big build-up. No forced production. Just two humans choosing each other, side by side, in the middle of the forest.
It matched the tone of the whole day. Intentional, simple, and honestly kind of badass.
This wedding had ren faire energy in the best way.
Kitt went full forest fantasy, including wings, which immediately made every photo feel like a storybook still. Hunter came in with the fantasy nerd flair, and it all blended together in a way that felt playful and authentic, not “theme party.”
Because this was a small wedding, we had time to do portraits that actually felt relaxed.
Not the rushed “smile, next” thing.
More like, “show me your outfit, show me your personality, show me the way you actually hang out together.”
We got couple portraits that leaned into the forest setting, plus fun guest photos that let everyone show off their fits. For a wedding like this, that matters. When your guests understood the assignment, you document it.
Instead of a traditional reception, they kept it community-style with a potluck.
It fit the day perfectly. No pressure. No rigid schedule. Just people eating, laughing, and actually spending time together.
It felt like the kind of wedding where you look around and realize, “Yep. This is exactly what we wanted.”
If you’re doing a park wedding like Bendix Woods, bring a few small things that make life easier:
A couple blankets or towels (good for sitting, kneeling, and keeping outfits clean)
Bug spray that actually works
A backup plan for wind (especially if you’ve got wings, veils, or loose fabric)
You do not need to overcomplicate it. You just need to be comfortable enough to stay present.
