Fun fact before we even get into the wedding day. We captured Amanda and Ryan’s Disney World proposal, and later they hit us with the best kind of plot twist and asked us to come photograph their wedding day too.
So yeah, this one felt full-circle in the coolest way.
They planned a Canyonwood Ridge wedding in Dripping Springs, Texas that was fairy tale-like, fun, and exciting. They also had the kind of wedding party energy where Disney references, true crime tangents, and “we can talk about literally anything” were all happening at once. That is our kind of chaos.
Getting Ready With The Good Energy
Amanda spent the morning getting ready on-site, which made the whole day feel smooth and relaxed. When everything is in one place, you get more time for real moments and less time running around.
Amanda also had two details that mattered a lot to her, her ring, and a special gift she wanted to give her sister. Those are the kinds of moments that hit harder than any “perfect” detail shot, so we made sure they had space to happen.
Ryan and his crew rolled in later, and their vibe was basically sports, childhood stories, and Ryan casually dropping history fun facts like it’s a personality trait. Respect.
The Ceremony Setup That Felt Like A Movie
Amanda and Ryan chose to wait and see each other at the ceremony, and Canyonwood Ridge is a killer place to do that. Their ceremony was indoors, framed by that huge window with the view behind it, which makes everything feel bright, open, and cinematic without needing to do anything extra.
They also chose an unplugged ceremony, which we love. It keeps guests present, and it keeps the aisle clear so the moment actually looks like the moment.
Portraits That Felt Natural (Even If You “Don’t Take Photos Often”)
Amanda and Ryan both said they wanted quite a bit of direction, and honestly, that’s perfect. Most couples do not take professional photos together all the time, so having someone guide you through what to do with your hands and where to look is the whole point.
We focused on keeping things flattering, relaxed, and real, with a mix of cozy, playful, romantic, and a few “okay wow, you two look like a poster” moments too.
A Reception Built Around The Vibe
Their reception was everything they described. Fun, exciting, and a little fairy tale-coded.
The sweetheart table by the fireplace was a standout. It gave them this cozy anchor point in the room, and it’s a dream spot for portraits when you want something warm and timeless.
They planned for the big classics too, first dance, parent dances, anniversary dance, cake cutting, plus the garter and bouquet toss. Basically, the kind of reception where there’s always something happening, but it still feels easy to enjoy.
A Sparkler Exit To Finish It Off
Amanda and Ryan wanted a true “end of the night” moment, so they planned a sparkler exit to close out the celebration. It’s the perfect sendoff for a Canyonwood Ridge wedding because it matches the whole venue vibe, romantic, elevated, and still fun.
Quick Planning Tip
If you’re doing an unplugged ceremony, ask your officiant to mention it right before the processional starts.
Guests listen more in that moment, and it saves you from having phones pop up in every aisle photo.
