Victor and Kris threw the kind of wedding that feels like a movie. The vibe was classical gothic with elegant decor and just enough fall warmth to make the black, red, and rust tones hit even harder.
And if you’re wondering if they were serious about the PARTY part, yes. Around 250 guests, a massive bridal party, and an “everyone get up right now” moment that turned into a full-on Rocky Horror Time Warp flash mob.
Victor and Kris go way back. Years ago they were both in the restaurant world, and that little chapter ended up being the beginning of something huge. Fast forward, and they’ve built a life that’s equal parts best-friends energy and “we know how to have a good time.”
They were engaged for two years, and the engagement story is very them. Vegas in March, Adele live, and that perfect mix of romance and chaos that makes you go, “Yep. That’s the one.”
Allure on the Lake already brings that clean, modern, elevated feel, but Victor and Kris made it their own. The decor leaned elegant and dramatic, with gothic touches that felt intentional instead of themed-out.
Black, red, and rust set the tone. It read moody, romantic, and bold, especially paired with fall accents that gave it warmth instead of going full “dark and spooky.”
They also wanted their portraits indoors, which was a solid call for this look. Indoor light, indoor textures, and a space that matched the vibe from top to bottom.
Even though they planned a first look, Victor and Kris actually ended up getting ready together privately. Honestly, that’s one of our favorite ways to start a wedding day. It takes the pressure down a notch and makes everything feel calmer.
When it was time for their portraits, it didn’t feel staged. It felt like two people finally getting a second to breathe and go, “Holy crap, we’re doing this.”
Nine on each side. Three ushers. A full-on squad.
Big wedding parties can either feel chaotic or feel like a hype team. Victor and Kris’ people chose hype. The kind of group that keeps energy up, makes sure you’re laughing, and will absolutely scream for you when you walk back down the aisle married.
Their ceremony was emotional without being heavy. Beautiful, intentional, and centered on them. They included a unity sand hourglass, which fit their whole vibe perfectly. Classic, symbolic, and visually cool.
Then it was straight into cocktail hour, and you could feel the energy shift from “we’re doing the thing” to “we’re celebrating the hell out of the thing.”
Once everyone was seated and the reception kicked off, it rolled right into the good stuff. Entrances, first dance, cake cutting, welcome speech, and then dinner service while the room settled into that excited buzz.
Speeches hit, mom dances happened, and then came the moment where you just knew the rest of the night was going to be unhinged in the best way.
The table dash.
The DJ set the rules real simple: everybody stand up, slide to one side of the table, and when the music hits, you sprint in for a quick photo with the couple. A few upbeat songs, a lot of laughing, and somehow they knocked out a ton of guest photos without it feeling like homework.
Later in the night, they brought out a totally separate moment that had the whole room losing it: a Rocky Horror Time Warp flash mob. It was the perfect kind of surprise, the kind where even the people who swear they “don’t dance” suddenly know the moves.
The night rounded out the way a big party should. Late night snack hit, the dance floor stayed alive, and there was talk of closing things out with a last dance moment. Circle dance, everyone in, phone lights up, end-of-night magic without trying to be cheesy.
Just a room full of people who showed up for them and stayed until the end.
If you want indoor portraits, plan for it like it’s your main location, not a backup. Choose the rooms with the cleanest light, clear clutter early, and build in a little buffer so you aren’t rushing a big bridal party through tight spaces.
Also, if you’re doing a table dash with 200+ guests, the secret is simple: have the DJ clearly explain it once, keep it to a few songs, and make sure you have a clear path for people to move fast without tripping over chairs. Controlled chaos is the goal.
