Megahn and Chris’ Chicago engagement session was the perfect mix of classic, personal, and a little unhinged in the best way.
We started with calm, beautiful Lincoln Park vibes, then headed into the city where they made a very intentional stop at 7-Eleven, because they’re getting married on 7/11. After that, we finished with night city shots that looked straight-up cinematic.
Lincoln Park is such a good starting point for a Chicago engagement session.
It’s relaxed, it’s pretty, and it gives you that soft, natural look right away. Trees, paths, open pockets of light, and enough space to settle in and forget the camera exists for a minute.
Megahn and Chris were comfortable together from the jump, so we kept it moving with an easy walk, a few quick portrait stops, and a lot of candid moments in between.
Then we hit the city, and this is where their personalities really showed up.
They stopped at a 7-Eleven as a nod to their wedding date, 7/11, and it was honestly such a fun, personal detail. It’s simple, it’s memorable, and it makes their story feel like theirs.
We grabbed a mix of playful, candid photos outside and around the storefront, the kind of shots you’ll look back on and immediately remember why you did it.
After that, we leaned all the way into the night city vibe.
Chicago at night is a whole different world. Street lights, reflections, glowing buildings, and that “we’re out in the city doing something fun” energy that makes photos feel alive.
We kept the direction simple and let the environment do the heavy lifting. Walking, leaning in close, a few dramatic pauses in the right light, and a whole lot of natural laughter in between.
1) Start somewhere calm, end in the city.
Parks are a great warm-up. Once you’re relaxed, the city part feels effortless.
2) Add one personal “story stop.”
A bar you love, a record shop, your favorite late-night snack spot, or a 7-Eleven for your wedding date. These details make your gallery feel like you.
3) Plan for night photos.
Night city shots are best when you embrace the mood. Darker outfits, bold contrast, and a little trust in the process goes a long way.
If you want engagement photos that feel like a real date, with a mix of classic Chicago backdrops and personal details that actually mean something, we’re in.
Tell us your vibe and your must-have ideas, and we’ll help you build a session that flows easy and looks incredible.
