Sarah and Andrew’s engagement session at Cobus Creek County Park had that perfect October vibe.
Overcast skies, quiet trails, and that soft fall light that makes everything feel calm and cinematic, even without a big sunset moment.
Cobus Creek is a solid go-to if you want outdoorsy engagement photos without making it complicated.
You get wooded trails, creekside spots, and pockets of open space that give your gallery variety without needing to leave the park.
And in October, especially on an overcast day, the whole place takes on that moody, cozy feel that photographs so well.
No sunset? Totally fine.
Overcast skies are basically nature’s softbox. The light is even, flattering, and it lets us shoot in more directions without fighting harsh shadows or squinting.
It’s also perfect for fall sessions because it makes the colors and textures feel rich and true, and it keeps the vibe relaxed.
We kept the session moving with an easy walk through the trails, stopping when the background or light felt right.
Sarah and Andrew were comfortable together right away, which makes everything better. Less “what do we do,” more laughing, leaning in, and letting the real moments happen.
We worked in a few creekside spots for a different look, more open, more scenic, and a little extra calm.
That mix is what makes Cobus Creek such a great engagement session location. You get cozy, woodsy frames and a few clean, timeless portraits without ever leaving the park.
1) Don’t stress the sunset.
Cloudy fall days can be amazing for photos. Soft light is your friend.
2) Layer up.
Jackets, sweaters, scarves, and textures look great in fall photos and help you stay comfortable.
3) Wear shoes you can walk in.
This park is best when we can explore a bit and keep the session moving.
If you want engagement photos that feel natural, outdoorsy, and full of real moments, Cobus Creek County Park is a great choice.
We’ll keep it easy, help you feel comfortable, and make sure your photos feel like you two, even if the sky stays cloudy the whole time.
