Some weddings feel like a breath of fresh air, easy, meaningful, and filled with the kind of love that just radiates through every single frame. That was exactly the energy at Alexis and Walter’s fall wedding, held at Alexis’ grandparents’ property. From hand-picked wildflowers to a crowd-favorite dance circle under the stars, this day was full of heart, warmth, and zero stress.
From the beginning, Alexis knew she wanted to get married at her grandparents’ place. What started as a backyard filled with overgrowth and junk turned into a stunning clearing transformed by love, vision, and a little elbow grease into the perfect space for their ceremony.
The decor was natural and heartfelt: wildflowers from a farm down the road, unexpected finds like lavender picked up on a whim, and handcrafted benches nestled under fall foliage. Nothing felt forced just right.
While Alexis was getting ready inside her grandmother’s house, Wes captured not just the glam but the details that told a story. Childhood photos, heirloom moments, and thoughtful framing that tied in the home’s history with Alexis’ new beginning. Meanwhile, Walter kept it cool and classic, with his only real concern being the weather (which, spoiler alert: was perfect warm and sunny for October).
Their ceremony featured a hand-fasting ritual, connecting their hands and hearts in a deeply symbolic moment. Surrounded by trees, handmade benches, and the people who mattered most, they said “I do” with Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire playing softly in the background. As Walter said, the whole thing went by way too fast but every second was packed with meaning.
This wasn’t a cookie-cutter reception it was a choose-your-own-adventure celebration. Guests could hit the dance floor, meander to the firepit, or just enjoy the golden evening light across the property. The vibe was chill but full of joy. The signature moment? A spontaneous final dance where everyone circled up around Alexis and Walter at the end of the night. It was the kind of closing that gave you goosebumps and maybe a few happy tears.
Words From the Couple
“It could not have gone any better or more perfectly… Wes goes above and beyond the images, and feels like a partner-in-crime and not just a vendor.”
(Okay we’re blushing now. 🥹)
Alexis also shared a piece of advice for future couples:
“Try to make it as authentic as possible nothing should feel forced. It doesn’t have to go full DIY to feel meaningful.”
