Carlota and William’s wedding was the kind of day that just felt right. Intimate, personal, and full of thoughtful touches that reflected exactly who they are. Whether it was the fall leaves dancing in the breeze at Deep River County Park or the cozy dinner celebration at Theo’s Steakhouse, every part of their day was rooted in love and a whole lot of nerdy joy.
The day started with both sides getting ready in separate spots. Carlota and her crew were at the Best Western in Valparaiso, surrounded by conversations about musicals, Harry Potter, and favorite recipes. The vibes were chill, excited, and filled with those little details that matter like rings, memorials, and fun nods to fandoms. Over at their home, William and his crew kept it classic, with the energy of a good game-day tailgate and the kind of laughs only close friends and family can bring.
Their outdoor ceremony at Deep River was heartfelt and sweet, with Stephanie Naumoff officiating. Friends and family gathered among handmade benches, and the setting felt like it came straight out of a storybook. There wasn’t a formal exit or a grand display. Just two people promising forever in front of the people who matter most.
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the beautiful park for portraits. The mix of natural light, cozy fall colors, and those playful, snuggly poses they requested made it easy to capture who they really are together. Carlota and William wanted cozy, silly, romantic, and a bit of magic and they brought all of it.
Their reception at Theo’s in Highland was small, warm, and filled with laughter. Guests mingled over cocktails before sitting down for dinner and speeches. The first dance was to “It Only Took a Kiss” by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and kicked off the night’s low-key but joyful celebration. There was cake, a bouquet toss, and a few fun nods to their favorite fandoms. Star Wars, Mr. Incredible, Harry Potter, and superheroes made quiet cameos throughout the night in the best ways. It was one of those weddings where guests felt right at home and knew they were part of something special.
What made this wedding stand out wasn’t just the locations or the weather. It was the intentional pieces layered in throughout the day. It was the nods to the nerdy things they love, the care in choosing their decor and attire, the visits to family who couldn’t be there, and the joy in keeping things real and relaxed. Carlota and William knew exactly what kind of day they wanted. And they absolutely nailed it.
