You know a wedding’s going to be good when it kicks off in a botanical garden and ends with jazz, tequila, and sparklers.
Amanda and Guy pulled off a wedding day that was effortlessly elegant and packed with personal touches from the live music and family heirlooms to their epic sparkler exit. Set in the heart of Mishawaka, their wedding brought together New Orleans energy, a library-themed cocktail lounge, and one seriously fun guest list. And yes, they looked damn good doing it.
We kicked off the day with Amanda and Guy’s first look in Battell Park’s gazebo and rock garden. It was quiet, heartfelt, and full of all the good stuff that makes this job awesome. And just steps away, the rest of their families were nearby, waiting for portraits before the ceremony started so these two could actually enjoy their cocktail hour later (smart move).
Amanda looked stunning in her David’s Bridal gown, with her mom helping her into it alongside the family’s cameo ring. It was one of those moments that felt equal parts timeless and real. Meanwhile, Guy rocked a sharp Brooks Brothers suit and brought that relaxed, “I’m marrying my best friend today” kind of energy.
The ceremony at Battell Park’s bandshell was filled with colorful florals (courtesy of Powell the Florist who just so happen to be family), a touch of jazz, and vows that had everyone leaning in.
Their officiant, Jocelyn (also a close friend), delivered a non-religious ceremony that was beautifully personal. Amanda and Guy walked back down the aisle to a sea of bubbles, grinning like kids at a summer fair.
Once the ceremony wrapped, guests headed over to Jesus Latin Grill & Tequila Bar one of the most vibey reception spaces in the area. Think cozy library decor, tropical florals, and a menu that pulled no punches. Also, tequila. Lots of tequila.
Cocktail hour kicked off with a live jazz set from In The Blue, while guests mingled, sipped cocktails, and soaked up the ambiance. The couple made their entrance just in time for dinner, which was plated, fresh, and a total hit.
They shared their first dance to Lovely Day by Bill Withers, which hit that perfect blend of romantic and chill. And just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, the night closed with a sparkler send-off that lit up the front steps of the venue.
From a Pittsburgh bachelorette party with stories we probably can’t publish (ask Amanda) to a wedding day that flowed without a hitch, this one checked all the boxes.
Amanda and Guy created something uniquely theirs a celebration that reflected their love of good music, bold flavors, and the people who mean the most. It was romantic without being overly buttoned up, classy without being stiff, and filled with laughter from start to finish.
