When your wedding checklist includes “bubble machine gun,” “cake piñata,” and “ice cream cart,” you know it’s going to be a celebration worth remembering and Sarah and Dean absolutely delivered.
Their big day at the industrial-chic Record Box Loft in downtown Battle Creek was filled with intentional details, a fun-first mindset, and the kind of offbeat energy that makes you want to throw confetti at every step.
Both Sarah and Dean got ready on-site at the venue, which made the day feel relaxed right from the start. Their separate prep suites were buzzing with excitement, laughter, and the casual conversations that only close friends and family can have. We especially loved capturing the detail in Sarah’s bouquet wrapped with lace that carried deep family meaning.
Dean’s crew leaned into their favorite topic (D&D, naturally), and Sarah’s crew bonded over stories of kids and pets. Let’s be real, that’s the content we live for.
These two opted for a private first look, and it was one of those quiet, meaningful moments that reminded us why we love what we do. We also explored some downtown Battle Creek.
Their ceremony took place right outside the Record Box Loft, and it was short, sweet, and exactly how Sarah and Dean wanted it: no fuss, just love. A standout? Their niece Alexis stealing the show with a bubble machine gun as the ceremony wrapped up. Because why not fill the air with bubbles when you just got married?
After their quick and heartfelt “I dos,” it was time to party. Their reception featured all the essentials: awesome food from Millennium Catering, personalized decor in rich jewel tones, and some fresh spins on classic traditions. Instead of cutting a cake, these two smashed one a full-on cake piñata moment that had the crowd cheering.
They also skipped a first dance, letting the music flow naturally with Lynn’s husband Matt on DJ duty and leaning into a relaxed, fun vibe. Later in the evening, guests cooled off with treats from Fire and Ice, the rolling ice cream cart, and laughed along with the couple during their shoe game and sweet (and hilarious) speeches.
Sarah and Dean’s wedding was the perfect reminder that your wedding day should feel like you. From jewel-toned details to bubble-fueled exits, their day was bold, laid-back, and full of meaning. And now, they’re off for a two-week adventure through California and Hawaii, soaking in sunsets, wine, and well-earned newlywed bliss.
