Nicole and Patrick’s winter session at Notre Dame had that cozy, classic campus feel from the very first spot.
We started at the Morris Inn, then took a relaxed walk around campus, chasing good light and capturing portraits that felt natural, warm, and timeless, even with winter in full swing.
The Morris Inn is such a great place to begin a winter session at Notre Dame.
It has that elevated, cozy atmosphere that instantly sets the tone, and it’s perfect for warming up while still getting portraits that feel polished. Starting here also makes the session feel like a real date. It’s relaxed, comfortable, and it helps you ease into the photos without feeling rushed.
After the Morris Inn, we headed out for a campus walk.
Notre Dame in winter is a vibe. The backgrounds feel cleaner, the light is softer, and the whole campus has a quieter energy that makes sessions feel more intimate. We kept things moving, stopped at a few classic spots, and focused on capturing a mix of portraits and candid moments as Nicole and Patrick just enjoyed being together.
Winter takes away a lot of visual clutter and lets the architecture shine.
Plus, when it’s cold out, couples naturally stay closer, which always makes the photos feel more connected. We leaned into that cozy energy and made sure their gallery had a great mix of iconic campus backdrops and close-up, emotional moments.
1) Start somewhere warm.
The Morris Inn is perfect for this. It helps you relax and gives you a comfortable beginning to the session.
2) Dress in layers that still look clean.
Coats, scarves, and boots can look amazing when they fit your style.
3) Keep moving.
Walking between spots keeps you warm and makes the session feel natural.
If you love the idea of cozy winter portraits with classic Notre Dame backdrops, this kind of session is a perfect fit.
We’ll guide you through the route, keep it comfortable, and capture photos that feel like you two, start to finish.
