Hannah and Eric’s Elkhart airport session was one of those “this is so them” sessions from the start.
Eric is a pilot, Hannah is a flight attendant, and they met on the job, so doing a plane-themed engagement session was basically the only acceptable option.
We love when a session has a story baked into the location.
This wasn’t just “let’s pick a pretty spot.” This was their world. Their careers. Their origin story. And it made the whole session feel personal in a way you can’t fake.
The airport setting gave us clean lines, open space, and that unmistakable runway vibe that instantly tied everything back to how they met.
A themed session does not mean cheesy, unless you want it cheesy.
For Hannah and Eric, we kept it intentional and fun. The kind of images that feel elevated and timeless, but still clearly tell their story.
We leaned into the details and the environment, then let their connection do the heavy lifting. Because at the end of the day, the best photos are still about the two of you.
The airport gave us a mix of wide open backdrops and clean, minimal scenes that made the portraits feel bold and modern.
It also fit their energy. Confident, adventurous, and a little bit “we’ve got places to be.”
And knowing they met while working in aviation made every photo feel like a callback to the very beginning.
1) Choose a theme that’s actually your story.
Jobs, hobbies, first date spots, anything that’s real to you will always photograph better than something trendy.
2) Keep it intentional.
A few themed touches go a long way. You don’t need to turn it into a costume party unless you want to.
3) Trust the location.
Places with clean lines and open space (like an airport) look incredible on camera when you let the environment frame the moment.
If you’ve got a unique “how we met” story, a shared hobby, or something that’s truly part of your relationship, we’re all about building a session around it.
We’ll keep it relaxed, guide you through everything, and make sure your gallery feels like you, with just the right amount of personality.
